Ibadan Polytechnic Authorities Arrest Suspected Cultist

Student Arrested With A Double Barrelled Shot Gun, Live Cartridges And One Axe

A 22-year-old student was on May 12, 2014, Monday, arrested at the main gate of Ibadan Polytechnic by authorities of the institution.

This was contained in a statement issued by the institution’s Registrar, Hezeikiah Fehintola.

According to the statement, the suspect was believed to have visited the school with the intention of causing mayhem.

It said that the suspect, who hails from Delta State, had on him at the time of his arrest a bag containing a double barrelled shot gun, live cartridges and one axe.

The statement said that the suspect claimed to be a student of one of the higher institutions in Ibadan, adding that he was at the institution to visit a friend.

It revealed that the suspect had been handed over to the police for further investigation.

The Registrar in the statement, reiterated the school’s zero tolerance for cultism, violence and other acts of indiscipline, and urged the staff and students to be security conscious while he asked parents and guardians to monitor the activities of their children.
