On Monday evening, May 12, a roadside bomb planted by unknown gunmen killed three soldiers and injured three others during their patrol in Gwani forest in Gwaram Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
The Jigawa state Police PPRO, Abdul Jinjiri, confirmed the incidence saying that the blast happened in Bauchi State. However, he stated that they don’t have any report on it yet, according to Daily Trust.
An anonymous source mentioned that the incident happened around 7pm at Zumburum village where the Gwani forest is located between Bauchi and Jigawa border.
It was gathered that the soldiers who arrived the Zumburm village last Thursday were on patrol in a ten-Hilux convoy when one of the convoy matched the IED that exploded and killed the soldiers.
An eyewitness added that the soldiers have been patrolling the area ever since the last explosion that killed seven policemen in Gwaram local government area of Jigawa state.
